Final Fantasy VII's world is not simply just a floating mass in space, but a living organism. Its life blood is the Lifestream, a flow of energy that contains all the knowledge of all the creatures that ever lived on its surface. Since the Planet is a living creature, it has a mind of its own.

Final Fantasy IX's world that was ripe for assimilation. Much of its cycle of souls was depleted, evidenced by the barren and lifeless appearance.

A single massive island, composed of a one mainland continent with several smaller islands. The world consists many diverse climates.

Final Fantasy XII's world consists of three continents: Ordalia, Valendia, and Kerwon. The Galtean region of the Ordalia continent is a desert area with rocky mountains spread out at the western reaches, making airship travel more feasible, though not entirely possible with the presence of Jagds. Vast plains are found in Ordalia's interior, away from the coast. The Valendia continent is lush and verdant. Southern Valendia is mostly hilly grasslands, as seen with the landscape of the Cerobi Steppe. The Kerwon continent is more arid than most areas in Ivalice, even in its lowlands; though the highlands mostly experience snow. This continent is heavily forested and filled with Jagds. For the record, there has been no successful attempt to explore this continent.

A floating continent world in Final Fantasy XIII. It floats above Gran Pulse (known simply as Pulse to the inhibitants). Although Cocoon has the appearance of a small planetoid, it is actually hollow and its inhabitants live inside of the shell. Cocoon is a futuristic paradise filled with highly advanced technology which protects it against the supposed intruders from the planet below. It is ruled by the Sanctum.

The giant world that lies underneath Cocoon. Gran Pulse can be considered the conflicting parallel of Cocoon, it is a world of natural evolution where animals and plants are free to grow to tremendous sizes. Gran Pulse features an open world design with a more free style of gameplay, a stark contrast to the more story driven and linear experience of Cocoon.

One of the largest worlds known in Kingdom Hearts, it is located in between light and darkness, and like the name implies, the sun's position stays the same.

A glorious kingdom known as a capital of light.

A quaint and calm town, Traverse Town features a sky of eternal night, where stars can be seen clearly. Survivors of the worlds lost to the Heartless find their way here after their world has been destroyed.

This world is nonsensical and bizarre in its own way. Houses that have foldable furniture, a tea party without any guests and a forest of giant flowers are just some of the odd things found here. The world is ruled by the stroppy Queen of Hearts, and her card-like soldiers.

A dark, murky woods that is not only inhabited by the usual forest animals, but by dwarves. Snow White was once a visitor here.
